Title: Portfolio Administrator
Location: Montreal
Our client is an independent discretionary portfolio management firm based in Montreal managing investment portfolios for high-net-worth private clients and institutional clients such as foundations.
Our client is looking for someone hardworking, honest, organized, and detail-oriented, ready to join a small but growing firm. The ideal candidate can work well on their own, but also collaborate with colleagues when needed. The incumbent must be comfortable working in a small, fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where his/her efforts and direct contribution in the success of the firm are recognized and rewarded.
Responsibilities:
Portfolio Administration 70%
- Liaise with broker-dealers and submit investment allocations to custodians
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and ad hoc for clients
- Review daily reconciliations and run daily reports
- Assist the portfolio management team for various requests (reports, research, etc.)
- Review book values and other portfolio data
- Help prepare tax packages
Client Services 20%
- Assist the client services team with client information updates
- Take requests from clients and assist client services as required
- Help manage client documentation, reports, etc…
Office & Other 10%
- Assist Compliance and Operations teams when required (data collection, finding information, etc.)
- Answer phones, greet guests, handle incoming & outgoing correspondence
- Organize files, archive documents, compose letters and translate text
- Various office management tasks
- Help with special projects
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree or diploma (preferably in a business focused program)
- Knowledge of basic financial instruments (equities and fixed income) or willingness to learn more about investment asset management.
- Experience working in a similar firm (size and industry)
- Proficiency in Microsoft programs (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.) and willingness to learn new software
- Comfortable with math, formulas, and equations
- Understanding of basic documentation such as contracts and forms
- Strong Interpersonal skills
- Detail Oriented
- Bilingual (oral and written French and English)
